The first method:
Sit next to an insightful sheikh / scholar who will inform you of your shortcomings and also tell you how to cure them. But such scholars are now rarely found. But if it is found, it is as if a wise doctor has been found, never leave it!
👈 Second method:
Make a true, trustworthy, pious and insightful friend and make him a competitor to warn me when I do something undesirable.
That is why Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: May Allah have mercy on the person who informs us of our faults.
And the Salaf-e-Saliheen loved people who warned them of their faults. But our condition is that we hate the person who tells us our faults.
The third method:
Recognize your flaws in the language of your enemies. Because the eye of enmity and revenge sees only evils. A quarrelsome enemy who talks about your faults is more beneficial than a friend who hides your faults!
Fourth method:
Mix with people. Whatever nasty habit you see, find it in yourself. If you find that habit in yourself, try your best to avoid it
